Celebrating Leadership and Growth at Mafoluku Senior Grammar School

After successful completion of  the Values and Leadership Development Program (VLDP) at Mafoluku Senior Grammar School, we wrapped it up with a special leadership awards ceremony to celebrate students who demonstrated remarkable growth, excellence, and leadership.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of the School Principal, School Counselor, and Samuel Igah, Senior MERL Executive at ACT Foundation and the REVAMP Africa Team.

Students were recognized in four key categories: Best in Demonstrating Leadership, Most Improved Academically, Most Improved in Behavior, and Best Academic Performance.

It was truly inspiring to see how VLDP participants had stepped into leadership roles within the school, proving that with the right mentorship and structured development, young lives can be transformed.

Adeshina Rodiat, one of the awardees for Most Improved in Behavior, shared how the program changed her approach to school:

“The program taught me that punctuality is an important value and how it can help with my studies. It made me start coming to school early, giving me more time to revise what I’ve learned and properly prepare for the school day.”

Similarly, Richard Praise, the recipient of the award for the Best Performance in Demonstrating Leadership, reflected on how the program shaped his understanding of leadership:

“The Values and Leadership program taught me a lot about leadership. Right now, I’m the class captain, and it made me realize that leadership is really about bringing people together to achieve a common goal. It also made me admire my teacher even more because I now see them as a leader who inspires me.”

The recognition inspired students to actively apply their leadership skills, fostering a positive and values-driven school culture.

Thanks to the generous support of ACT Foundation, REVAMP Africa continues its mission to raising tomorrow’s leaders, today! We remain committed to expanding this transformative program nationwide, shaping the next generation of leaders and creating lasting change in communities.
